Employee Spotlight: Kim Horton

Education:  Associates Degree, Executive Assistant.  Credits toward Business Management Degree, Sinclair Community College.  IAAP (CAP), Certified Administrative Professional.

Favorite part about working at Flagel Huber Flagel: Everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the mission of the Firm.  We’re all a “team.”

Area of expertise at Flagel. What do you help people to do? As the face of FHF – Dayton Office, for both walk-in clients and by phone, I enjoy interacting with a wide-range of people and always strive to make a professional impression.  My goal is to consistently maintain exceptional standards of customer service.  I also provide Marketing administrative support as a liaison with CMO OnLoan; coordinating and publishing the monthly newsletter, organizing promotional material and ordering supplies, and assist in planned marketing programs.  I’ve also learned all social media platforms used for our firm’s website and newsletter posts.

Favorite way to spend your time:  Believe it or not, one of my favorite hobbies is playing poker (Texas Hold’em). I play in tournaments and cash games as often as I can.  I enjoy the competitiveness and the camaraderie of meeting all kinds of people.

What is your personal/family life like?  My husband Gary is retired.  He spent his 45+ year career serving others; helping children, (Montgomery County Children’s Services) working with the mentally ill (Dayton State Hospital) and lastly, assisting the geriatric population, (Area Agency on Aging).    I have one daughter (Nicole) and two granddaughters, (Kaitlyn and Julia).   I enjoy traveling, and spending time with family and friends!

Fun Fact: I have an identical twin sister, Kris.  She is two minutes older than me.  We talk to each other every day and see each other at least 2-3 times a week.  We’ve always been extremely close and have a very special bond.  I also have 4 other sisters, (no brothers).  We all live in OH except one, who lives in Virginia.

Favorite movie/band/musician/TV Show? Favorite Movies: As Good as It Gets, Something’s Gotta Give (I’m a Jack Nicholson fan).  I like Adele’s music and have always liked Phil Collins.  Quite a change from the first concert I went to when I saw Edgar Winter back in 1974.
